About
Background, credentials, and how I arrived at this work
Who I Am
I'm Avraham Ben-Tov, a Torah educator and guide for people experiencing depression, anxiety, addiction, or chronic emotional struggle.
My work is not clinical therapy, nor is it motivational coaching. It is Torah-based guidance rooted in seriousness, accountability, and lived experience—often serving people who have already tried conventional therapeutic frameworks and sense that something essential is missing.
Education & Background
MBA from Cotsakos College of Business
Research Assistant, NYU Psychology Department
Ongoing study across the full spectrum of Orthodox Torah sources
Led enterprise systems serving 6,600+ professionals in regulated environments
I did not arrive at this work theoretically. I arrived through integration—of psychology, Torah learning, leadership experience, and personal transformation.
Why My Background Is Unusual (and Useful)
Most people working at the intersection of Torah and emotional wellbeing come from either a clinical background or a rabbinic background. I come from neither—and both.
My path spans:
- Formal psychology training (NYU, Harvard research)
- Intensive Torah learning in Jerusalem
- Senior leadership in technology and knowledge systems
- Personal experience with spiritual disconnection and recovery
This combination allows me to work with people who need more than symptom management, who are looking for meaning and structure, and who are ready to take responsibility for their inner work—all within a Torah framework.

How I Typically Work
Depending on the person or institution, my involvement may include:

- Group teaching or educational programming
- Structured courses and learning programs
- Written content and video teachings
- Collaboration with clinicians and rabbanim on the meaning-oriented and hashkafic dimensions of care
All work is grounded in Torah sources, personal accountability, and the belief that suffering—when properly understood—can become a catalyst for strength and spiritual growth.
